On the 11th to 12th or June two of our founders volunteered at Cheltenham science festival to help spread the word about apprenticeships. Throughout the week the we asked the attendees to write down any questions they had about apprenticeships. We have collected them and compiled the most popular ones below along with our answers.
Can anyone get it?
Yes! Anyone can become an apprentice! As long as you have the right attitude and a wanting to learn, apprenticeships are open to all!
How old do you have to be to be able to do this job?
Usually 16 or over!
What is an apprenticeship?
An apprenticeship is a different way of learning by working and being in education! It allows you to learn practical skills you will need in your career and understand your industry!
Do you get paid?
Yes! you get paid a salary and have your university/education fees covered too!
How much do you get paid?
It varies depending on the industry you are in but you can get up to £30,000
Can I get a degree through an apprenticeship?
Yes! Degree level also known as level 6 apprenticeships, allow you to get a bachelors degree. This means you work while you study and your university fees are covered! You can also go on to do a level 7 apprenticeship where you can earn a masters degree
Do you get to choose your job or are you limited to certain jobs?
It depends on the company but most of the time you get to choose or at least have some input into what you’re working on!
